The Dream of Playing in WSOP

Posted By Diego | Other News | April 21, 2010, 02:21 AM |

The World Series of Poker is just a little over five weeks away.  If you play poker, then one of your dream is to play on the grandest stage in the world and take your shot at Millions as well as a gold bracelet.  This year's WSOP kicks off May 28th at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

The WSOP is a series of 57 tournaments in all disciplines of poker.  Buy-ins for open events range from $1,000 all the way up to the $50,000 Player's Championship.  This year, the $50,000 Player's Championship replaces the $50,000 HORSE Event at the WSOP.  Also, there will be a $25,000 Six-Handed NL Holdem event for those that want a buy-in greater than $10,000, but less than $50,000.

Of course, the granddaddy of all poker tournaments kicks off on July 5th with the $10,000 NL Holdem World Championship.  Players from around the world will come and take their shot at the event.  Last year's winner, Joe Cada, took home over $8 Million for first place.  It is not unrealistic to expect this year's winner to take home as much as $10 Million depending on the field size.

If you are interested in playing in the WSOP, many online websites hold satellites for WSOP events, including the Main Event.  Check out some poker room reviews for sites that interest you and then sign-up.  Soon, you may be playing with the big boys in hopes of becoming the 2010 World Champion of Poker.
